Knowledge Eliminates Fear

\"knowledge

We have just returned from our spring retreat and it was an incredibly memorable experience! By the end of the weekend we were getting stuck into some pretty profound knowledge and experiences and it seems many of the participants felt they were peering through the looking glass and realising that there is more to what we can offer than merely an uplifting and life-enhancing tool.

Regular practise of an effective meditation technique is the cornerstone of the most powerful self-development. It can act as a vehicle for our evolution. But if one really wishes to usher in a game-changing shift in their life experience, and to do so in short period of time, a roadmap can be essential in helping us move to where we are heading in a smooth and timely way. Our progress in life is greatly catalysed when we have access to powerful knowledge. This can help us swiftly experience new layers of perception and make sense of how this all fits in to our ever expanding horizons.

However, there is so much information out there, and so many rules, and much of it conflicts each other, or our instincts, and what we unfortunately find is that there is so little true knowledge.

For the ancient ages of India, knowledge wasn\’t carefully preserved and passed down in order to fill us up with information or rules. It was done so in order to set us free. To achieve our highest potential so that we can live a life that is full of inspiration and fulfilment. Should we try to use knowledge in a more superficial way, it will bind us and confuse us.

Knowledge is there to help us challenge the assumptions that we have made, or that have subliminally been made for us by the hypnosis of social conditioning. There are so many things we do not question. For several thousand years, no one in Europe was questioning that the world is anything other than flat, and the first person to make a name for doing so, Galileo, was put under house arrest for the profanity of his musings!

In the late 19th century, a famed scientist went on record as saying that science had now discovered 99% of all the things there were to be discovered, only for a certain patent office clerk from Switzerland to blow that theory completely out of the water with a little theory about how E = MC2. Even Einstein himself rubbished the notions of Quantum mechanics years after the theory was postulated, but then particle accelerators and titanium box experiments have since proven that those mind-warpingly difficult theories do in fact explain reality at the quantum level so accurately that it surpasses all other scientific theories for accuracy.

When we are teens (or older), many of us assume that the rather intriguing member of the opposite sex who is not really talking to us or paying us much attention has no real interest in us, when in actual fact the complete opposite is true!

Life is full of assumptions, and we so often need them in order to live a productive life. But they can also be incredibly self-limiting.

One of the things we achieved at the weekend was to help people start looking a little beyond their assumption bases and to see that in actual fact, our reality does extend way beyond the surface layer of life.

We know this must be true because there are so many unexplained phenomena within science. We know this because something within our intuition always wants to believe that magic exists, even if, through a lifetime of disappointing outcomes, we remain hugely sceptical that it actually does. And we know this because all of the scientific developments of the last 100 years are pointing towards something much bigger, and much more interesting than the simple, mechanistic Newtonian world that we are all so familiar with.

Beeja knowledge is particularly brilliant for this. It is full of hypotheses about the nature of life and the universe, and there are a plethora of techniques to help you utilise more of your cognitive and perceptual capabilities so that you can put these hypotheses to the test in real life. You slowly find yourself concluding that these new models seem to explain the world in a far superior way to those which you\’ve been operating on before. Or they simply validate that which you\’ve been concluding as a result of the insights you\’ve had in life or since you\’ve begun your meditation practise.

The clarity this brings helps us avoid a lot of mistakes and unhelpful assumptions that cloud our world. It prevents the confusion that comes from not really understanding what\’s going on or why things are happening.

The more we understand, the less we have to fear. Even people who are quite intuitive, often find themselves trying to avoid \’bad energy\’ and \’energy vampires\’, but the reaction is always borne of slight fear. When you have knowledge, you realise there is nothing to fear, there is simply wisdom and intuition to follow. And as the veil of ignorance lifts, what is revealed is crystal clear beauty.

And the more you start understanding life from this more expansive vantage point, the more trust you have that everything is going to be alright. And not just alright, but much, much better than alright. As one very adorable Nepali used to say as he escorted us through the High Himalaya, \’it\’s better than good!\’

It was a delight to help people lift the veil and have a peek down the rabbit hole this weekend, and it is equally a delight to see how many of those who participated are now curious to discover what more is out there. There is a sense that they now realise there is so much to be discovered and that this is simply the beginning. And that is a great joy, because there is nothing more beautiful than arming people with the tools and the knowledge that helps them develop high level insight and clarity so that they can bound through life without fear, and realise the hallowed higher states which man has been seeking for time immemorial.
